Not the best hotel I've stayed at. Rooms are rather cold and feel quiet claustrophobic. Food was pretty fresh but was also raw and the serving sizes where enormous.Don't know what the hype is and why everyone I know is dying to visit.

Ellie and the team at Funeralcare did a wonderful job looking after us during a most difficult time when my father passed in January this year.It was my first time having to organise a funeral and she just walked us through the whole process with so much care and understanding, she really made it as easy as possible.She also understands the NZ Maori cultural protocol and catered to our specific wants and needs to be able to have our father at home with us for 3 days before laying him to rest. She even came to the house during those 3 days to check on dad and make sure he was still looking his best.They were so wonderful during the whole process and the day of the funeral went exactly as we'd planned.I nearly lost my husband this year in June and was told to prepare for the worst so in my mind I was already planning a funeral down to the photos n music I wanted but I knew all i had to do was give Ellie a call.Thankfully I didn't have to make that call to Ellie but I know if we need to in the future we will always go with Funeralcare.Yesterday I picked up my dad's official death certificate from Funeralcare and to be honest I was anxious to walk in there because all of those memories and feelings came flooding back from when we were there for my dad. But as soon as I walked in and Ellie and her husband greeted me like we were family who hadn't seen each other in awhile all that anxiety went away and it was really good to chat with them about the year we've had.Thank you so much Ellie n the team at Funeralcare.. ❤❤

Our experience with Mayfair Funeral Directors was nothing short of incredible.During what was the most difficult time for our family, Jillian guided us and offered her services at all hours of the day and night.I cannot recommend Mayfair more highly - the personal touches they offered; from having my father's prized motorcycle parked front and centre at the chapel, to the comfort they provided each of us.Dad was given a beautiful send off by some of the most special people we've ever met - he would have been so pleased.Thank you for everything Jillian and team - your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten by our family.

I first met Ellie 3 years ago with my mum to plan for her funeral. My mum passed away a few weeks ago and Ellie came personally to collect mum from the home she was in just before 6am. It was a very emotional moment and I was just so appreciative that Ellie was the one picking her up. I then met with Ellie later that day to book in her funeral and review requirements to fulfill my mum's wishes.The funeral took place earlier this week and everything ran perfectly. Family in the Eastern States were able to contribute by pre-recording the Eulogy, a talk and a song and Ellie organised for everything to be uploaded to the cemetery. The service was streamed with a link provided the day prior so that family could watch live or at a later time depending on their time zone. Everything ran seamlessly.Yesterday I picked up the Death Certificate and also a thumb drive containing all the audio, video and photographs of the funeral service; all identified clearly and easily accessible.Over the past 3 weeks I have felt so cared for by Ellie and staff at Funeralcare. The professionalism and level of detail put into the service and looking after my mum throughout with such compassion and respect has given me so much comfort and assurance.I am extremely grateful that my mum chose Funeralcare to manage her funeral. It's so important to know that all the legal requirements are fulfilled and everything is managed and organised in a timely manner. It's the 'icing on the cake' if you are also able to emotionally connect with the funeral provider; and this was absolutely the case for me using Funeralcare.

My experience with this company has been not only heartbreaking but unprofessional in every way I think people should know how the manager or owner of this place had conducted themselves in regards to my father‘s funeral while we were in the midst of Covid so that other people don’t have to go through any of these issues or heartbreak in their own family. Not only have I still not received my father‘s Plack which was promised I have not received his death certificate they lost his video which was all I had of a recording which they were completely apologetic about how they ruined this for me and now won’t even pick up my phone and now I’ve had to seek legal advice against this company and the compassion that they’ve shown me is completely opposite to the fake phone calls that they gave me after they realise that they had damaged my father‘s video. I have no memories of my father‘s funeral and I’m completely in pieces and how this company have conducted themselves I didn’t realise that people were so heartless when at that moment they are so full on about being there for your feelings so that you go through their company and then they’re the complete opposite. I hope a lot of people read this and consider twice about using this company because families deserve to know as these are important times and stressful times and not only that a time to trust someone else with the loved ones information details everything really so I hope that this helps and that other people can find a better company that will accommodate those needs so that no one has to go through this horrific ordeal that I’ve had to. I can only hope that this company will rectify this issue as I’ve tried to not only contacted them just today and plenty other times.

I have to agree with the other reviews here. Jillian and her team are nothing short of amazing. Their kindness and compassion were such a blessing to our family and made a contactless cremation - which could have been considered a bit distant - a meaningful funeral for us. The personal touches including the text once the hearse was at the cemetery so the family could have a quiet moment here and in the UK made it special. Thank you so much Jillian.
